You'd think I would have watched a Bogart film or two in prep for this theme, but I went a little further back in time and genre to The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari. Some of that early German Expressionism really knew how to utilize a relatively 2D space.
The street lamp was made from a coat rack and old porch railing. The mantle is a couple of plastic candy buckets frosted with acetone.Necropolis

Finally, a theme that I could use some of my bone collection in!
Humerus, radius, femur and tibia make up the central cross, while jaws and ribs encircle. The small rounds are vertebrae caps. Mirrored ulnas form the heart shaped element below the disc. Vertebrae chains flank the stone panels, and a small skull cap top off the piece.Zoomorphic

I dressed in hunter orange, and shot any varmint that stepped in front of me!
There's a raccoon, some butterflies, a snake, a couple of squirrels, a woodpecker, and a couple of other woodland creatures nested in this cardboard creation.
Lots of hot glue (and third-degree burns), dry hands and cardboard dust went into this one. Most of this set was lost in a small forest fire.Arcana

It's amazing how many items I still use to this day that have some of this purple paint on it.From Trauma: Arcana

Note to Self: Real leaves will become compost as the night progresses. Facilities Mgmt will not be happy!

Bowie
Drauma 2016, a David Bowie memorial fashion show.
Sometimes simple is not the best route. The lightning bolt was forged from a 100+ y/o 2x4. The houndstooth, twill and chevron patterns were created using old lath boards. The black stain was achieved using an all natural stain made from rusty nails, vinegar, and a lot of tea bags. The beadboard panels are mounted to three of the doors from the Circus themed booth from 2014.
